TRISTERO & Rita Morais

1030 Stappen/Pas is a theatre project that takes spectators on a journey through Schaerbeek. Based on the testimonies of residents with an immigrant background, we rediscover the neighbourhood. What places were important to them when they arrived here? Which places do they remember fondly, positively or negatively?

Tristero is collaborating with Portuguese director and actress Rita Morais on this project. In 2020, Rita Morais created a similar project in GuimarĂ£es, the former capital of Portugal. As a student at Ritcs, she spent some time living in Brussels and Schaerbeek.

The project aims to give a voice to migrants and newcomers and to offer – through their stories – a new perspective on places in Schaerbeek that spectators may pass by every day without noticing.

The tour will be presented in French and Dutch.
