Luca School of Arts

At Gallait 80, we strive to give enough space to young artists and surround them with the necessary generosity. Since the autumn break of 2021, we have regularly opened our studio spaces to the Photography students of LUCA School of Arts (Campus Sint-Lukas Brussels).

During the autumn break of 2022, we hosted 2BA for another portrait workshop under the guidance of teachers Mashid Mohadjerin and Kris Van Beek.

In March 2022, two groups of Master’s students worked on their individual projects for a week each.

Student Failenn Verborgstadt on working in Gallait 80 : “It is different working here than at school because the spaces are more homely; there is not the strict white-box feeling. For me personally, this is an added value because it is new and forces me to think about a different set-up for my work. Also positive is that in this house, among other things, with the kitchen, I felt like I lived here and could just be here. I could do everything here at my rhythm, without restrictive schedules. That definitely contributed to the quality of the final result.”
